The length of the day and year are set by the orbit
of the earth, however, any self respecting sup****ter
of the metric system recognizes that the whorish
24 hour day is as unsound as a Bablyonian 360 day
year with no 5 10 or 11 day leap weeks added
occasionally.
Any self respecting advocate of the metric system
clearly understands the need for a 100 second per
minute, 100 minute per hour, 10 hour day. (The
length of the day remains the same.) Of course,
as the Earth slows in rotation over the course
of hundreds of millions and billions of years, the
length of the second will probably be increased,
but we will still probably have 24 hour days.
