hello i'm an artist from new york city and i just joined this group on
google. seems interesting and i'm looking forward to more. i thought i
would share this blog post by a friend of mine with you as it does a
great job of describing a project i've started this summer in which i
direct 75% of the sale price of my individual drawings on Post-It notes
toward one of my favorite environmental groups, the NRDC. these works
are all sold online through missionfish and ebay and the average sale
price is about $20. hope you enjoy viewing them and i'd love to hear

Post-It Art Can Save the Planet

A wonderful friend of mine, who was fortunate to be born with a
talented, forward-thinking mind, is reaching out to the planet with his
groundbreaking art - for the planet. The artist of whom I write is
none other than NYC artist extraordinaire, Tom Schreiber. Tom, who is
currently receiving quite a bit of praise for his Post-It Series,
wanted to make it easy, fun and colorful for more people to sup****t the
great work of the NRDC while enjoying his art. 75% of the final sale
price of his 3-inch Post-It drawings will sup****t the cause. The normal
price for each piece is about $20, which is far below his gallery
prices. Why? Our world. So, buy, buy, buy.
So, What's This NRDC All About Anyway?
The Natural Resources Defense Council is our nation's most effective
environmental action group with more than 1.2 million Members and
online activists. NRDC's staff of attorneys, scientists and other
environmental specialists work to defend our natural heritage and the
environmental laws that protect human health.
What does that mean to you? Well, silly, your life. If you haven't
noticed (well for NYCers at least) that we had no real winter and
summer so far has been a breeze - if you don't count those last two
weeks that were oh so humid. But, that's what we're used to - NOT
THE EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING! Now, that's what the NRDC can do for
us, at minimum. And that's what sup****ting Tom's art can do for
them. Simple logic as I see it. So, if all goes right, Tom can save the
planet - Go Tom!
