The historic 50th San Francisco International Film Festival opens on

26 will with an Italian epic, Emanuele Crialese's stunning cinematic
achievement Golden Door. Combining a lavish visual style with a
thoroughly
contem****ary sensibility, Golden Door is the story of a colorful
Sicilian
family and their journey to America at the turn of the last century.
Aboard
the ****p, they meet a British woman with a complicated past, played
by
the
ravi****ng Charlotte Gainsbourg, and face further life-altering
challenges.
