Advertising and Graphic Design Instructor Position with Guilford

JOB SUMMARY

This full-time position will teach a variety of Advertising and
Graphic Design courses preparing students for employment in Business
and Industry.  Teaching load is 18-22 contact hours per week,
including day and/or evening cl*****. Subjects include: Graphic Design
I, Graphic Design II, Computer Graphics (InDesign, Illustrator,
Photoshop), Multi-Media 1 (Dream Weaver), Multi-Media 2 (Flash),
Technical Illustration, Typography and related courses as needed.
Other duties include working closely with other faculty to revise,
update and develop course outcomes, updating and maintaining lesson
plans and demonstrations, keeping posted office hours, advising
students, serving on committees and assisting with departmental
functions and responsibilities.


REQUIREMENTS

*Minimum of a two-year Associate Degree in Advertising and Graphic
Design or Commercial Art. BFA, MFA or MA in Graphic Design or related
field preferred. Transcripts must meet standards of one of the
regional accrediting bodies as recognized by the Council for Higher
Education (CHEA), i.e., Southern Association of Colleges & Schools,
etc., as applicable.
*Minimum of three years experience in Advertising and Graphic Design.
*Proficient in computer graphics, using OS X Leopard and the following
softwares: Adobe Creative Suite 3; Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator,
InDesign, Dream Weaver and Flash.
*Demonstrated ability to teach.
*Ability to establish and maintain effective working relation****ps
with students, faculty, staff and the general public.
*Commitment to preparing all students for the workforce and
integrating  employability skills in courses assigned.
